Two Georgia builders are adding new houses to the market as they expand across the Atlanta area, one of the country's largest and fastest-growing metropolitan regions.

Peachtree Residential has homes for sale in the Hillshire development in Cumming, Georgia, north of Atlanta. Prices range from the $700,000s to the $900,000s, with some designs offering farmhouse floor plans and three-car garages.

About 50 miles southwest of Cumming, in Good Hope, Georgia, My Home Communities is planning Cotton Creek. The development offers a rural environment for residents while still being within driving distance of downtown Atlanta. Prices for that development have not yet been released.

The Atlanta metropolitan area ranks as the nation's ninth-largest with a population of 6.3 million, according to the latest figures from the U.S. Census Bureau. It's also the third fastest-growing region, adding more than 68,000 residents from mid-2022 to mid-2023, Census figures show. Dallas, with a population of 8.1 million, is the nation's fastest-growing metropolitan area with more than 152,000 new residents.

At Hillshire, optional flex space and upgrades include a covered outdoor living area. The development is near the new 75-acre Cumming City Center that features local shops, restaurants, trails and a 2,000-seat amphitheater.
