Florence Boulevard Homes for Sale

Florence Boulevard is a historic Omaha neighborhood named for the street that runs through its center. The boulevard, once dubbed "The Prettiest Mile in Omaha," was designed in the late 1800s, and some homes here date to that time period. Bungalows, cottages, American Foursquares and Nationals are common styles, and some newer cottages and ranch-style homes are sprinkled in. Home sale prices are low for Omaha, usually starting below $100,000 and climbing to the lower $200,000s. By contrast, prices are slightly higher in other north Omaha neighborhoods, such as Miller Park-Minne-Lusa and Bedford Place. Level streets with narrow sidewalks offer walkability, and Kountze Park and local restaurants like Time Out Foods and Cajun Kitchen are within walking distance. The 2-mile commute to Downtown Omaha takes about five minutes by car, and Eppley Airfield is 3 miles away and a seven-minute drive. Major employers like UNMC and the businesses in Midtown Crossing are about 5 miles away, and those commutes typically take 10 minutes. Metro buses serve the area, but taking the bus can lengthen daily commutes. The Omaha Public Schools district serves area students, and King Science & Technology Middle School is right in Florence Boulevard. Nearby neighborhood organizations and community groups help preserve and maintain the area. Recent efforts included a roadside cleanup around Florence Center to the north.
