Newer Oxnard suburbs near Route 101
Like the famous Manhattan neighborhood that shares its name, Oxnard's West Village is popular for its great walkability and plethora of nearby shopping. Route 101 is also just a mile away for a convenient commute. Unlike the Manhattan version, this community offers spacious suburban homes and manicured green spaces seven miles from the beach. Lawns aren't particularly large, but residents enjoy landscaped parks and gardens providing relaxing escapes amongst the residential streets. Some homes even surround the Oxnard Historic Farm Park – a small late-1800s farmhouse and winery that preserves and showcases the region's agricultural roots. The greenery extends along the tree-lined sidewalks, which are great for afternoon strolls and allow kids to walk to three schools in the community.

Mediterranean homes on landscaped streets
Residents are drawn to West Village's suburban landscape with tree-lined streets and landscaped sidewalks. Small green spaces tucked between homes or on street corners offer unique places to relax in the sunshine. Some are manicured grassy lots, and others are landscaped gardens with enchanting arbors and walkways. Palms and laurels decorate the lawns of Mediterranean-inspired homes with tile roofs and stucco exteriors. "These are relatively newer developments, so they're great for people looking for an open floor plan," says Sean Seitz, co-owner of Comfort Real Estate, specializing in Oxnard and Ventura. "There are nearby communities with larger yards, but they're often older homes, whereas these are great for people who want something a bit newer." These Mediterranean Revivals were mainly developed in the early 2000s. They range from $720,000 for a three-bedroom to just over $1 million for a spacious five-bedroom.
