This house was found 9/2016 in original condition with no renovation in 56 years except for maintaining the HVAC and security of the house. The original owner moved out about 10 years ago. They used to the home to store personal property until the recent sale. However one could tell from the content and original condition that pride of ownership was apparent. Only 3 holes in the original plaster walls were found! We undertook a top to bottom renovation, addressed every inadequacy, and rebuilt what was originally contructed as a very solid house. We attempted to bring nuteral colors and desirable materials to the renovation. The rooms in this house are not many, but all very good sized and a very open floor plan. A new laundry facility was constructed in the basement with new appliances and folding table. Old panelling was removed and new was added or replaced. A piece of carpet could turn the recreation room in the basement into a desireable play area or gaming room. Small attention to details were made, like adding vents to the basement replacement of the windows with secure glass block. Likewise 5" oversized gutters and downspouts were added instead of 3". Many replacement windows were considered, however the very highest R value gas filled windows were selected. Additional attention was paid to the replacement by keeping all the window sills and trim, which is far in excess and quality of currently constructed houses at any level. We also added soffit vents around the whole house to add the correct circulation of air in the attic. During the hottest days of September it was cool inside and during the latest snow falls, no melting is evident anywhere. Likewise, Fawley replaced the garage doors with insulated doors and new door openers. As a bonus in the garage, there is a finished loft which is accessible via a new insulated door from the rear of the building. In the process of renovation a 85' antenna tower was scheduled for removal. However upon research, it was determined this is a valuable asset and very desirable. Between the cost of Cable and ease of free antenna TV, those in the know are looking for these towers. Hence, the tower still exists and ready to receive free TV signals for the core local channels.
This house is perfect for a small family, empty nester, or young professional who desires a beautiful peaceful location. Need for maintenance is non-existence for several years. Wasting excessive amounts of money on energy isn't necessary either, as this house is insulated, has an efficient furnace, water heater, windows, and appliances are all new!
