Lewis Potts, a "railroader and steamboat man," could afford this large and expensive home with its poured concrete foundation, matchstick hardwood flooring, custom glass-front built in cabinets, beautiful living room fireplace, high ceilings, pocket doors, big windows, archways, and the original stained wood banister staircase just inside the front entry door with side lights (all of this remains!).
