Charming house with a wonderful story and history! Current owner lived there as a young girl with her family in the early 50's. She purchased the house 2 years ago with the intentions of "saving" the much loved house. The previous owner had taken it down to the studs thereby making way for this owner to put in new electrical, plumbing, windows, historical style wood trim, doors, and insulation. The walls were put back in place, two full bathrooms were added and the laundry room was moved up to the first floor. The Second floor ceilings were raised and closets were added. The current owner also replaced the sewer line, rebuilt the back deck, raised the front porch, painted inside and out, installed new flooring in the first floor bedroom (or family room), installed a barn door, polished the original hardwood floors, converted the fireplace to gas burning and more. Since the house was a beautiful vibrant red when the owner previously lived there, she had it returned to red in honor of her mother who dearly loved this house. It is said that this house was the original farmhouse in the area before William Rockhill Nelson developed the Rockhill neighborhood which is now on the National and Local Historic Register along with each individual house.
