Heating is the original electric forced air unit. The system has been inspected and all vents cleaned and sterilized. Auxiliary heat is provided by an airtight wood stove in the main living area. The kitchen has all new cabinets (European style from IKEA) with a generous center island for food prep and dining. All new custom-built laminate counters and 29 drawers for storage. New stainless sink and faucet. There is a new gas range (propane), dishwasher and an older refrigerator. Laundry area has electrical service and is plumbed for washer and dryer. Exterior: The east and west walls were extended to a thickness of one foot, providing extra insulated space and deep windowsills. The entire exterior has new board & batten siding and trim, and a wainscot of corrugated metal in natural rust. There is a 12' x 18' storage shed for the toys. Water is supplied by a well with solid production. A new water line was installed from the well to the house in 2010. A new water filtration and softener system was also added at that time. The well pump was replaced six years ago. Main roads are maintained by The Durango Hills Road Association. Fees (approx. $350/year) are collected with property taxes. There is a separate North Durango Road Association which handles snow removal for the local neighborhood. Annual fees are $250. Four wheel drive is recommended in the winter months.
