Not your average Realtor. As a former Newspaper reporter and Documentary Filmmaker, I'm a storyteller who happens to make a living in Real Estate. I'm drawn to the personal stories of the people I work with and leverage my background in marketing and communication to craft the best narrative to present your property in front of as many potential buyers as possible so that you have the best chance at getting your price!
My Real Estate background began with the radical act of founding and running an 8-year affordable housing experiment in the form of an off-grid Tiny Home community in Oakland, California. That project ultimately resulted in a lobbying campaign to change building codes and zoning, in part due to my ability to harness publicity and public opinion. To the clients I serve, I bring the same tenacity and creativity to every sale. I speak investor and invest in Real Estate myself. As a Tiny House and Accessory Dwelling Unit Expert I can help you or your buyer understand your backyard's potential. I also studied permaculture with the originator, David Holmgren in Australia, founded a backpacker magazine in Nicaragua, and am currently working on a brownfield bioremediation project through the nonprofit I founded Neighborship in West Oakland. Like buying Tom’s Shoes, every Real estate transaction you do with me supports my big “Why” which is to scale the production of affordable tiny housing in California and make the housing crisis a moment of our history.
