I highly recommend connecting with Adriene if you’re looking for a realtor in South Alexandria—especially in the Mount Vernon (22309) or Fort Hunt (22308) areas. She’s lived in the community for years and knows the area inside and out.

As an Air Force family relocating in 2019, we were already under contract with another realtor when we came across Adriene’s content online. Her YouTube videos were incredibly informative and played a big role in helping us narrow our search to 22309—even though we couldn’t work with her directly at the time.

For military families, finding a realtor who truly understands the unique challenges of relocating—tight timelines, limited house-hunting windows, and the stress of moving—is so important. Adriene clearly gets it, and it shows in the resources she provides.

If you're beginning your home search, definitely check out her videos—you’ll quickly see how thoughtful, knowledgeable, and helpful she is.

TLDR; ALL THESE YEARS LATER......I STILL RECOMMEND ADRIENE TO EVERY MILITARY FAMILY MOVING TO THE AREA.

Highly recommend working with Adriene Pessel. She made buying a house in Virginia from Florida uncomplicated and even fun! As an agent, she takes the time to listen and understand her clients. The first time we talked on the phone she made an effort to learn our family's needs by asking questions and helping us understand the possibilities in the area. Next she took us through a presentation outlining the entire process of buying a home. When we flew in to look at houses for 48 hours we visited nearly 20 homes and we felt that we were able to get a good sense of the area.

As a negotiator, Adriene is thorough. She walks you through all of your options so that you feel empowered and confident. She is the regional educator for Century 21 and as a trainer of real estate agents -- knows every rule in the book!

If I could give Adriene 10 stars I would.

Like most everything else in life, selling real estate becomes
more and more difficult the more complex it becomes.

My sister and I, owners of a property in Northern Virginia, knew
that selling it would be a difficult, challenging endeavor. We had
had a limited feasibility study done, so we knew the land had
development potential. But we didn't know much else.

It was at that point, thanks to a fortuitous recommendation, that
Adriene Pessel rode to the rescue.

She instantly understood the complexity in front of us. But she
also understood that success is much about just doing the work.
And she, with her long experience in real estate, knew exactly
what that work entailed. She evaluated the property and
assessed how it should be valued. She set about putting
together a project roadmap. She created a web page to
showcase the property. And she began reaching out to her
many industry contacts.

Within a matter of days, we had the property under contract.
Since the sale was contingent upon County rezoning, my sister
and I knew this would be a lengthy process. What we didn't
know was how many twists and turns things would take as that
rezoning unfolded. There were legal issues. There were issues
with the County. And there were issues with the adjoining
property owners.

Adriene Pessel understood all those things. She became the
one person who shepherded all the issues to a successful close.
She was the glue who held everything together. She was the
person who, ultimately, made it happen.

Through it all, Ms. Pessel was friendly, engaging, professional,
and attentive. She jumped on every issue that emerged. And
she proactively reached out at reqular intervals to make sure
things were moving along, and that we - my sister and I - were
kept in the loop.

Every occupation has a bell curve. There are a relative few on
the left side of that curve who are truly expert, who consistently
execute, who make things happen. They are the folks who
prove the truism of the old 80/20 rule - the dictum that 20% do
the heavy lifting; and these are the folks who are responsible for
80% of the success

Adriene Pessel most emphatically belongs in that elite, rarified
company. She is a case study in how real estate can be dealt
with when attended to by a true expert.

My sister and I cannot recommend her highly enough.
