Albert graduated from Skidmore College in 1985 with a bachelors degree in Business/Accounting, and promptly moved to New York City to work for The Synchron Corporation, a real estate development firm. Albert became a licensed Real Estate Agent in 1987. In 1988 Roer was hired by the Canyon Ranch Organization, as a financial analyst, from 1988 to 1991. Albert moved to Telluride in 1991 where he headed up the accounting department for the Peaks Resort & Spa until 1999. In October 1999 Albert became one of the founding Partners of FlightOne, a Telluride based air charter and fractional aircraft ownership and management company. After seeing FlightOne through start-up and heading operations as General Manager for three years, Roer was hired by Telluride Properties in September 2002, and named President to over see day-to-day operations. Albert became a managing Partner of Telluride Properties in 2004. Albert is also a Manager and Executive Committee member of the Forty Seventh Fifth Company which owns and manages 580 Fifth Avenue, NY, NY. Roer served as the Treasure of the Telluride Hospital District Board (2005-2014) which oversees operations of the Telluride Medical Center. Other current and past boards, Telluride Association of Realtors, Marketing Telluride Inc. aka (Telluride tourism Board.) New San Juan Building, Fino Building, Parkside building, Telluride Ski Ranches, Granita Building, 237 S. Oak and The Peaks HOA boards.
