Allison is a native Rhode Islander, born and raised. Alison grew up in Barrington and attended Lincoln School and then Brown University. Upon graduating college in 1995, Allison moved to New York City and worked in the fashion industry, at Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein, Inc. Allison enjoyed the fashion industry, but knew her heart was in education, so she left fashion for grad school, and earned my Master's in Teaching English at Columbia Teachers College.
Upon completion of her degree in 1998, Allison returned to Rhode Island, and lived in Providence. Allison taught in the Providence Public School system and loved it. As Allison’s family expanded, she and her husband, Bill, decided to move back to their hometown of Barrington, where they live now and raise their three children. In 2009, Bill and Allison boldly ventured into the hospitality world, and opened the award-winning American Bistro, Billy’s, also located in Barrington. They have since sold the restaurant, but it is still thriving as a local favorite. In 2013, they launched KEEL Vodka, the world's first premium light spirit.
Allison has always been active in her community and cares deeply about giving back. Allison served as Co-President of Red Brick School in Barrington, where her children went as youngsters, and she volunteers at both Moses Brown and the Barrington Schools. Allison served as Chairwoman of the RISD Museum Associates, a non-profit organization that raises awareness and funds for the RISD Museum. Allison also serves on the RISD Museum Board of Governors.
