Andy Rieger

Andy Rieger graduated from the University of Oklahoma and dove eagerly into the news world. Writing bylines for The Oklahoma Daily and working on the copy desk of The Daily Oklahoman and Oklahoma City Times placed him in the center of Oklahoma's fastest growing markets.

Andy served both as editorial advisor of The Oklahoma Daily and assistant professor of journalism at the University of Central Oklahoma for five years before finishing graduate school. Afterward, he was hired by The Norman Transcript in 1995 as managing editor and continued teaching.

Since then, Andy has held leadership roles in a number of organizations including the Ethics and Excellence in Journalism Foundation, United Way of Norman, Rotary Club, Norman Business Association, and the Norman Chamber of Commerce. He and his wife, Karen have three children, a grandchild, and enjoy being active in the Norman community.
