Before his career in real estate, Austin graduated from Northwestern University, where he was a member of the Varsity tennis team.? After graduation, he began working for Starcom Worldwide, one of the largest advertising companies in the world. He served as a Senior Supervisor and Associate Media director for 5 years, planning media campaigns for the launch of Disney, Touchstone Pictures, and Pixar blockbuster movie releases, including Pirates of the Caribbean, National Treasure, The Incredibles, and Cars.?
