Ayo is the quintessential “ agent in your corner“
especially for someone like me who has very limited knowledge of the real estate world. Perhaps more important than getting you the best deal, she goes above and beyond to get you to embrace a greater vision of what is possible.

Ayo was our realtor for the purchase and subsequent sale of our condo in Harlem. We always knew she had our best interests in mind as we were looking for homes as well as when we were selling. When we moved out of the NYC area, Ayo was instrumental in introducing us to realtors in our new area who would be able to help us. Steven Pressfield once stated "The essence of professionalism is the focus upon the work and its demands, while we are doing it, to the exclusion of all else." I believe that Ms. Haynes and Mr. Pressfield have not made each other's acquaintance but were that to be true I would not be surprise if she served to have inspired Mr. Pressfield's quote.

My husband and I had been contemplating giving up our New York apartment and seeking an abode in an area that was less expensive, less crowded and that offered tranquility, cleanliness, and civility. In speaking with Ayo, she could sense immediately that we were intimidated by the process and quickly allayed our fears without diminishing our feelings and even when we decided not to pull the proverbial trigger, she was not aggressive rather she encouraged us to continue studying the trends simply to stay informed. She maintained contact with us, she was responsive to our questions and even provided us with updates on homes within our price range, desired neighborhoods and architectural style.

Due to her approach, we decided to give the home search a shot. I cannot express how relieved we are to have had Ayo guide us through the labyrinth that is the business of real estate with its time lines, forms and jargons. But for her firm yet assuring and calm presence, we were headed for the hills. Because between the weekend tour of homes during covid season, the disappointment when we lost a bid on a homes we really liked, dealing with the sellers, inspections, attorneys, mortgage brokers, underwriters, insurance agents etc we thought were going to lose our minds and our shirts. She knew when to push and when to pull back, she was the cool head in our midst and so we were able to benefit from her many years of real estate knowledge and experience.

When we had an unfortunate situation arise while we were in contract for a home we loved on sight, she guided us deftly through the process, assured us of our rights and like one of my favorite TV character Olive Pope was wont to said, It Was Handled!

Quite frankly, I do not know when she sleeps. She was available to us, literally, at all times. There is a saying - "professional is not a label you give yourself. It is a description you hope others will apply to you." I do not hesitate to say about Ms. Haynes that she is a true professional who knows the intricacies of the real estate world, has a firm footing in the business and works within that world skillfully and effortlessly without compromising her standards and values.

Although Ayo will hold your hands to keep you from either wringing them to death or pulling all your hair out, she would also bring you gently back to reality regarding your expectations/goals etc. It is a true testament to her skillset that she turned two skittish city dwellers into suburban dwelling homeowners and we love it!
