About Barbara

Having grown up in Northern New Jersey and graduated from West Essex High School, Barbara has an intimate knowledge of Montclair and the suburban Essex County area. She is passionate about finding the right house for her buyers, whether it be a first home, a condominium, or luxury estate. She dedicates herself to ensure that the transaction progresses smoothly. When working with sellers, her number one objective is to make sure that she gets them the highest price possible. She has been in the real estate business for over 20 years, having started her career in the Caldwell area. When she joined Prominent Properties Sotheby's International Realty, it gave her the opportunity to provide an even higher level of service to her clients. She has been a consistent top member of the prestigious New Jersey Realtor's Circle of Excellence at the bronze, silver, and gold levels. The market in 2024 continues to be a challenging one for buyers with a lack of inventory creating multiple bid situations on many of my listings.

Could not have asked for a better experience working with Barbara Gargiulo. As first time home buyers, we were new to the experience. We were excited, but our knowledge of the process and of the areas were extremely limited. Because we were so picky, it took about three months, but Barbara never lost her enthusiasm or her dedication to us as potential buyers. Barbara's knowledge of the area and expertise in the process really helped guide us through the steps of buying a home. Without her, we wouldn't have found our home.

Barbara Gargiulo of Sotheby's acted as our broker in the sale of our home in West Orange, New Jersey, in the spring of last year (2017. She handled everything, including evaluation of the home, advertising, finding a buyer, assisting in the negotiations for the sale price, preparation of the home for sale, acquiring documents and other items necessary for the closing. She was consistently supportive and helpful in all aspects of the process. She prepared a brochure for brokers and prospective buyers that was beautiful and I am sure stimulated interest in our home. We received a purchase offer within ten days of listing. In short she was everything y ou would expect your broker-representative to be. My wife and I would heartily recommend her to anyone seeking a broker to represent them in selling their home. On a personal basis, she became a dear friend.

Barbara is an excellent real estate agent and an absolute pleasure to work with. We had a pretty broad area we were interested in, and she was able to locate numerous homes that matched what we were looking for.
