Barbara Kanefsky of Keller Williams Suburban Realty in Livingston is a "people-person" who works diligently in assisting her clients through the home buying and selling process.
This personable agent,who resided in Livingston for over twenty years, and is currently living in Essex County, enjoys meeting the challenges of the real estate profession. "Buying and selling homes can be a real emotional roller coaster for people," notes Barbara. "It takes a lot of patience and understanding to help buyers find the right house in the right community, and to guide sellers to the closing table. I welcome the opportunity to help my clients achieve their goals." In the spirit of customer service, Barbara continues to stay involved even beyond the transaction. She follows up with her clients to make sure they are happily settled in, and is glad to serve as a resource for local information, such as recommending contractors, plumbers, electricians, etc.
Her dedication and hard work have earned her the loyalty of her clients who, in turn, continually refer her to family and friends. "Most of my business is done through referral," she notes. "It's gratifying that my clients have placed so much of their trust in me, and I am committed to maintaining that trust and confidence."
Barbara is a member of the New Jersey Association of Realtors (NJAR) and the Garden State Multiple Listing Service. She also holds the Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR) designation, the benchmark of excellence in buyer representation. This coveted designation is awarded by the Real Estate Buyer’s Agent Council (REBAC) of the NJAR to real estate practitioners who meet specific educational and experience criteria.
As an ABR designee, she is a firm believer in continuing education so she can hone her skills and better help her clients meet the challenges of the ever-changing real estate market. "It's all for the client," Barbara says. "That's what the job is all about – service."
This dedication to service is nothing new for Barbara, who began her working career as a dental hygienist. When her children were young, she was an active volunteer in their schools and turned her hands to outside volunteer work as well, such as delivering Meals on Wheels at the Daughters of Israel care facility. She also volunteered with the National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW), and remains a Life Member of the NCJW today.
As her children grew, Barbara went back to work for a promotional and advertising firm that served area corporations. This gave her a solid background in business and sales that came in very useful when she decided to take her career in a new direction – real estate.
A 25 year resident of Livingston, Barbara knows the community well, having chosen to live and raise her two children here. In addition to Livingston, Barbara serves all of Essex, Morris and Union Counties, with additional listings in other parts of northern New Jersey. "And if clients comes to me seeking a home in an area I'm not familiar with, I'll be happy to refer them to another competent agent I know will be able to help them."
