Barry provides his clients with an experience base and set of skills that are critical to success in today’s complex real estate transactions. These include sound judgment, outstanding communication, good listening, savvy negotiator, high energy; persistence, a service orientation, an in-depth knowledge of the real estate market and the technology tools required for success in that market, and paying attention to the details.
Barry knew he was “home” in 1985 when he discovered San Francisco and the communities of the San Ramon Valley. He loves its beauty, its architecture, its weather, its activities, and its ambiance. Mostly, he loves its people, and he feels blessed by God to be able to live here. As a bonus, he can collaborate closely with the best realtor in the East Bay. That would be Brenda Zwahlen, his business partner, and a broker with the exclusive BrokerInTrust network.
Barry held fiscal management positions with Ford Motor Company and Navistar prior to entering the executive search profession in 1981 with KPMG Peat Marwick in their Chicago office, where he developed a practice focusing on the recruitment of Technology executives. He relocated his executive search practice to San Francisco in 1985.
From 2000 through 2005, Barry served on the Board of Directors of Brightstar Information Technology Group, a publicly traded Systems Integration Company. Barry entered the real estate profession in 2002 and is one of the most highly respected real estate brokers in the country. He was elected by his peers to be the 2010 President of The Contra Costa Association of Realtors (four thousand Realtor members), and in 2013 was named the Realtor of the Year by the Contra Costa Association of Realtors. Barry is actively involved in the life of his community and church. He is an ordained Elder in the Evangelical Presbyterian Church (EPC).
