Ben Stoodley

Ben grew up on a small island called Westport off the coast of Maine. His parents were hard working and supportive, he’s so lucky and wouldn’t be anywhere without them. Most of his childhood days would be spent doing countless outdoor activities, ranging from snowboarding, and windsurfing to lobstering and getting lost in the woods. Basketball quickly began to consume all his free time as it was the first true love of his life. Although at the time Ben wishes he could have spent every waken hour in the gym, his parents instilled a strong work ethic in his sister and him.

Maine is an incredibly beautiful and magical place unlike the rest of the country, but at 18 Ben could not wait to get out. His parents talked him out of attending college in California due to the distance and increased costs, so he landed at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA. Ben spent 6 years living there, receiving his bachelor’s in civil engineering, minor in Construction Engineering Tech, and went on to complete his master’s studies in Structural Engineering with a certificate in Coastal Engineering. During Ben’s engineering internship, he quickly realized that corporate life was not right for him. All Ben knew was he wanted flexibility, so he became a personal trainer and bartender. This allowed him to make decent cash while still (sometimes) attending class.
