Ben Torrei

In 2008, Ben Torrei, founding partner of BGT Enterprises, identified the opportunity and need for small to mid scale development in Jersey City.
Focusing on purchasing and developing buildings which were non-conforming, undesirable, and presented opportunities for community improvement, BGT began an ambitious and successful development strategy to build family housing, business centers, and resources for the community. To date, BGT has either completed or is in the process of finishing 35 mutli-family, commercial structures. Additionally, BGT has rehabilitated the Holy Rosary School under its new name the “BrunswickCenter.com” and opened with full occupancy as the first fitness/wellness and education center in Jersey City filling 50,000 square feet with 15 local businesses including the largest pre-school in Downtown Jersey City thebrunswickschool.com . BGT was awarded the prestigious Urban Land Institute award for this transformation of the old Holy Rosary into the Brunswick Center.
