About Betty

Betty's interest in real estate began a number of years ago when she and her husband, Stewart, purchased parcels of farmland in Southampton, Bridgehampton and Sagaponack, Long Island and built and sold 10 beach front vacation homes over a 15-year period. Shortly thereafter, they became principals in the development of the largest tract of open land in lower Westchester- 44 acres adjoining Winged Foot Golf club. The development included 22 luxury properties in the Town of Mamaroneck with a Larchmont postal address.

Continued involvement in the industry led the Betty and her husband to open a boutique agency in 1990. After merging with Phillip Severin LLP, the oldest real estate agency in Larchmont, McMillan Severin became a top competitor for area listings. To extend the firm's reach internationally, Betty and her partners agreed to be acquired by Coldwell Banker LLC in 2000. As an associate broker Betty soon became one of the firm's top producers and as the Larchmont office's top producer year after year, Betty consistently ranked in the top 10 of the 550 Coldwell Banker Westchester agents and rose to the level of #3 in the County for 2012.

In 2015 Betty left Coldwell Banker to join Houlihan Lawrence, attracted by the expertise of manager Debbie Doern, and Houlihan's consistent participation in 75% of all real estate transactions in the Larchmont area. In her short time at Houlihan, Betty has become one of the firm's top producers having sold 20 million dollars in real estate since her arrival in March.

An encyclopedic knowledge of local markets and the practical workings of the villages and towns have enabled Betty to find the right home at the right price for her buyers. She combines her comprehensive experience in real estate pricing, development, and negotiation with her talents as an award-winning artist to find the best deal for her sellers. A major component of her listing process includes recommendations for staging the interior space as well as the exterior to optimize curb appeal and highlight the unique features so that each individual home shows at its best. She also excels in challenging markets and uses her vast connections in the industry to ensure that the greatest number of buyers sees each property.

Betty is a skilled negotiator and an advocate for her clients throughout the entire real estate process. She is renowned for her hands on approach with her buyer and sellers. She enjoys getting to know every member of their families and years after the closing she remains involved in their day to day lives taking pride in seeing their families grow and watching their relationships within the community deepen.

Betty’s attorney husband Stew also has a vast knowledge of real estate and negotiation which has been an invaluable resource for Betty. Together they have raised a large family of boys, five to be exact, and have lived in four different homes in Larchmont while doing it. In her free time, she enjoys drawing, visiting local museums, playing golf, and singing in her church choir.

Betty and her family have been involved in many local activities. While raising her 5 sons, Betty was active in school functions and sports, from coaching soccer to being Class Mother. Betty sings in her church choir and enjoys playing golf with friends. She has done commission portraits and pen and ink drawings of local homes.

Betty comes to Houlihan Lawrence from Coldwell Banker in Larchmont, as a Luxury Property Specialist and was the #1 Agent in her brokerage office, as well as one of the top ten agents in Westchester. She is a consistent award winner and has achieved the highest award given by the company nationally, "The President's Elite Award," several of the past ten years.
