From a poor blue collar from the streets of Cleveland, buying a home had always seemed like building sandcastles in the rain. Well that was until Brian Houts knocked at my door one fateful day. I answered the door, as most introverts, wanting to quickly send whomever it was away. Yet I was thrown a curve by a "Ned Flanders" type of fella with a smile that said friend, which was quickly followed up by a firm handshake. He introduced himself and that he represented JPW Realty. I regretfully informed him that the property was a rental and I didn't see us buying due to lives trials, I didn't want to waste his time. Brian rebutted with encouragement and said there were programs available that could help with that. Still reluctant, we ended with me taking his business card. Later that evening, during our usual "what happened today" I told my wife about Brian and how I enjoyed our meeting. My wife took it as a sign and we set up an appointment. We met Brian at a local coffee shop where he talked us through the home buying process and went through the brochure with us, answering any and every question we had. We exchanged email info and was connected to the portal to view potential homes, although I was still a bit apprehensive. As time went by, five years to be exact, Brian continued to send homes in our criteria. Finally that little nudge in life came, you know that one that make you take a leap of faith, and as promised Brian was there for the call! Now I have to tell you and I apologize in advance to those who have been through the ringer, I have heard the horror stories. Brian was different, very attentive! He updated us on new housing info, he found us a lender that best fit our needs. Once we found a target price Brian found homes in our market to walk through. He, like our parents, reminded us not to swing at the first pitch. He wanted us to find the right house for us. After a few viewings we made a bid, which was outbid shortly after. Yet, Brian reinforced encouragement and insisted we not give up. The following week he walked us through our dream in the making! Throughout the whole process, Brian was always attentive and did any and everything he could to make our transaction fair and in our best interest. He only works with good people and when you're lucky enough to work with good people, only good things can happen! No words can nor will ever express the gratitude me and my family have for our "Friend" Brian Houts and JPW Realty! Because of Brian, we have our Forever Home!

Brian is one of the best agents around! He is dedicated, honest and willing to go that extra mile to ensure you get a home that you'll love to be in.

We had interviewed a few other agents before Brian but when we asked him what he thought made him different, his response won us over immediately. That response was "...although I'm not perfect and I have made some mistakes, I am persistent, driven and want you to know that I will work for you. I will do my best to answer your questions right away, I will go door-knocking in an area you want to be in (I've found a few over the years that way) and I'll listen to understand what is most important to you..."

We put those words to a test and did send him out to door-knock in a few areas we fell in love with and by calling him up on numerous occasions to chat for well over an hour about what kind of homes we liked/market conditions/strategies/you-name-it. He demonstrated his integrity by showing us he was not just out to close a deal but rather to find our home. There were times he could have easily encouraged us to put in offers on properties he knew wouldn't make us happy but that we were willing to consider, solely out of shear frustration with the 2021 market. Instead, he encouraged us to find homes that fit our needs/wants and to take shots at them even if we didn't think we could compete.

Brian has lived up to everything he said he was and even to things he didn't mention, like when he helped my wife and I after we got a flat tire on Pioneer Trail. I bent a tire iron trying to pry a stubborn lug off, so he took it upon himself to find a repair shop, drive there, and come back with a mechanic and her cordless impact wrench all in the name of helping us out. He is absolutely someone who will go the extra mile.
