Carlene Taubert

I moved to Billings in 1979 from Casper, Wyoming after graduating from Denver University to open the Billings branch of my family's western retail store: Lou Taubert Ranch Outfitters. Since then I've been blessed with a successful life as a Mother, business owner, retailer, homemaker, and cowgirl at heart.

I've been a business owner in search of the perfect location, a mother in search of the perfect home. I know the awesome value of the "special places" in our lives, like my family ranch in Ft. Laramie, Wyoming.

As a new business owner in downtown Billings, I poured my heart and soul into my storefront on North Broadway in Billings. For many years, I was the one opening the doors each morning and closing up every night. My sister moved to Billings and we worked together for several years, and then she became the managing partner.

When my daughter was born in 1988, my husband Mark D. Parker and I found a home on a quiet cul-de-sac just a stone's throw from the home he grew up in. I'm forever grateful that during our home buying experience, our real estate agent would not let us settle for anything less than the perfect home, and that's a lesson that has always stuck with me. Our family also had a cabin for ten years in the Red Lodge area that served as our special getaway.
