The Chicago suburbs was a great place to grow up. I earned a degree in French at Northern Illinois University, and taught for a few years. Then the opportunity to move to Colorado came along, and so did a change in lifestyle. Going from being a city kid to a country kid was a start. Havng a son and a daughter was another big change. Raising them in the country outside of Mead was an awesome setting for watching them grow. A change in career accompanied all of that, and I became a Realtor in 1977. Getting my feet wet for a couple of years with Cenury 21 led to a change to RE/MAX of Longmont (now RE/MAX Traditions) in 1980. In 1985, I became the Broker/Owner of the growing company. The teacher in me never left, so I earned professional designations and became a Graduate of the Realtors Institute, a Certified Residential Specialist, and a Certified Distressed Property Expert. There is always an opportunity to take real estate courses, and I continue to do that on a regular basis. And, back to the teaching side, I make continuing education and specialty classes available to all of our agents on a regular basis. Laws change, contracts and rules change, technology changes, and environmental issues change---all areas we need to be adept in. What they say is true: Knowledge is power! As the Broker of RE/MAX Traditions, helping to solve problems for our agents and helping their clients achieve their real estate goals brings a lot of satisfaction.
On the "off duty" side, I have spent years enjoying scuba diving, landscaping and reading as favorite passtimes. I still live in the country, and enjoy being outside.
