If you're a first time home buyer looking to buy in the Bay Area, do yourself a favor and hire Carolyn! My husband and I started casually searching in late 2020 with specific requirements that seemed to get more and more detailed every time we saw another house... under 800k, highly rated elementary school in the area, close to Walnut Creek, no major inspection issues, no HOAs, preferably single family home over a condo. Carolyn VERY patiently walked us through every step of the way. She was flexible with her schedule always accommodating nights and weekends for showings with our busy jobs, she had strong relationships with sellers agents not only at Compass, but at other companies so she was able to get information back to us quickly and she was knowledgeable about reading inspection reports and could spot red flags when could not. As we continued our search, she remained unbiased, always encouraging us to make the best decision for our family when putting in an offer. It was important to us to have someone who was not pushy when making such a big purchase and Carolyn never pressured us. When we finally found the home that met all our needs Carolyn continued to be helpful . She carefully explained each document we were signing in words we could understand, she always gave us a heads up on what was coming next and she made sure to protect us with the appropriate contract contingencies. She was also timely and aggressive with getting our offer in the very next morning once we decided to move forward as well as with negotiation back and forth with the seller's agent (we got the house for under asking - what a win!!). After we closed, Carolyn continued to assist by setting up flooring and paint bids for us since the house needed a bit of cosmetic updating. When we ran into some questions about our solar she quickly got answers from the prior homeowners which was a huge help and saved us a lot of time and internet research. Overall, we could not be more pleased with Carolyn's services and would recommend her to all our family, friends, and community!
