About Cate
Cate has lived in seven states, from Oregon to Florida, and has met people from all walks of life.
She is equally comfortable in boots, half chaps, and riding breeches, or formal attire; and moves
seamlessly from assisting experienced, savvy real estate investors, to first time home buyers. A
graduate of the Harvard Business School and the Head of Finance for the US Post Office, Cate’s
father set the bar high for his four children. Her mother was the private secretary to a five-star
general working in the Pentagon, and her meticulous attention to detail, and passionate
devotion to truth, fairness, and helping others imprinted on Cate. Both parents shared a love of
music, literature, theatre, history, and the beauty of nature. Cate began her study of the guitar
at the age of eight and was writing and performing her own music by age twelve, eventually
obtaining a bachelor’s degree in music. She taught herself to read and write before starting
school, and to knit at age twelve, and shares her love of knitting through teaching friends. She
has volunteered six hours a week at a non-profit facility, teaching disabled children and adults
to ride horses free of charge for twenty + years, and was a trained Court Appointed Special
Advocate for children in the Foster Care System. All these experiences give Cate the ability to
get to know her clients on a deep level, by asking the right questions, listening, and enabling
them to feel comfortable talking and sharing their desires and needs.
Cate has worked since she was fourteen years old, and after being partially orphaned,
supported herself from the age of fifteen on. She attended and graduated from high schools in
Illinois and North Carolina, worked to support herself while attending college in Oregon and
Florida, and completed her degree as a working single mother of three at Arizona State
University. She attended ASU’s College of Law and worked as a Paralegal for a criminal defense
attorney as well as interning with a State Appellate Judge. She became a certified residential
appraiser after completing the required 2500 hours of experience, college classes, and passing
the certification exam. This dedicated work ethic guarantees her clients that Cate will work
tirelessly to find them the perfect home, or the perfect buyer for their home.
Attending law school taught Cate the skills of concise and specific communication, and
persuasive negotiation. These skills guarantee her real estate clients a strong advocate and
ensure firm but fair treatment of other parties in transactions. Her work as a paralegal allowed
her to hone her interviewing skills, listening for minor details that give a clear picture of her
clients’ needs. When you work with Cate, she will help you pinpoint the things that are
important to you, some of which you might not have even realized yourself!
With her background in real estate appraising, Cate’s clients can feel confident that they know
the correct market value of a property, so they won’t overpay if buying, or leave money on the
table if selling. Her tenacity and work ethic ensure that she will not stop until she has helped
you meet your goals, and her ethics assure you that she is looking out for your best interests.
Her entire life experience has led to her dream career, being a Realtor, which intertwines her
talents, creativity, people skills, and perceptive nature for the sole purpose of helping you reach
your goals.
