About Chris

Chris Davis was born into an auction family in Scioto County, Ohio. He grew up in a family run business where he learned the value of a good work ethic and the value of family and a team concept. He left the family business in 1984 and worked for Hunter & Chambers Realty and Auction Company as well as Euton Realty and Auction Company before relocating to Columbus Ohio in 1988.

He served on the Ohio Auctioneer’s Association Board as a Director and eventually the President in 2009 capping off 12 years of service to the association. He helps with over 50 Charities annually, serving as the auctioneer to raise funds to support their place in our community.

In 1997, he founded Auction Ohio and began building that brand throughout all of Ohio. Auction Ohio became the go to company for all types of personal property and equipment as well as real estate. In 2002 he began to conduct personal property auctions in a hybrid model that allowed for online bidding simultaneous to live bidding.

After working in the traditional auction industry selling personal property, the question was asked, is there a better way? Live auctions were experiencing a diminished buyer base and it was quickly realized that a greater number of buyers could be reached by utilizing an online auction platform which benefits both the buyers and the client who is selling the items. The buyers are able to view the locations of the auctions as well as all of the items being auctioned on their computers and bid on the items online, which has become, “The Better Way”. AO Auctions International, LLC was created in 2013 as the brand for the online only side of the business.

His focus is not on a destination but rather a journey of constant improvement. He intends to deliver on the commitment he made to his clients and customers. Thanks for coming along the journey.
