I’ve been a real estate broker in Los Angeles for more than 20 years dealing with hundreds of other real estate agents. Before that I was a mortgage lender with a big bank where I catered to real estate agents and their clients’ home purchases which I financed. As a result I know what a good real estate agent is and what a bad one is. Chris George is one of the very best.

For more than ten years I owned an investment house in an upscale neighborhood of Denver. The tenants always paid their rent on time so I never needed to go to Denver. When I decided to sell in a 1031 tax deferred exchange, I needed to find a highly competent Realtor to handle the sale. After doing a bit of research on the Internet, I found Chris. I had never met or heard of him before but I knew what to look for in an agent. After one telephone conversation I knew I had my man. He performed beyond my highest expectations and closed the sale of the home at a higher price than I had hoped for and sooner than I expected. Yet, to this day we’ve never even met face to face!

Here’s the way the sale went and what Chris did: Chris handled almost all communication with the tenants including getting them moved out on time and he handled the final refund of deposit, etc. He managed all clean-out required right before closing perfectly. He negotiated with the buyer and buyer’s agent resulting from a complicated home inspection of the home which was built in 1901 and which had potentially major structural issues. Having a highly experienced agent is critical to be able to manage buyer negotiation after the buyer’s physical inspection of the home is completed. As a seller or a buyer you should NEVER hire an inexperienced agent. Here Chris’s high level of experience saved me big time. Mind you that I was never in Denver to manage anything!

Most impressive was that I came to learn that Chris is so plugged in to the local network of other Realtors that he had offers coming in from other agents he had contacted before the listing was published on the MLS or any public websites. And then he persuasively pushed the price up to a much higher figure than I had hoped for and with no financial concessions by me to the buyers at all.
