About Christopher

Chris has 3 decades of experience in real estate and securities trading. Chris began his career at the Chicago Board Options Exchange with Merrill Lynch. He has worked on Wall Street with a NYSE Specialist as a trader using a proprietary pricing model based on Black Scholes and was a Member of the CBOE.

Chris has also run a small general contracting company with a focus on the restoration and remodeling of existing homes in Chicago and the North Shore. The company prepared homes for realtor clients that needed improvements prior to listing. The company also contracted with several commercial property interests to provide painting and remodeling including companies such as Searle, LaSalle Partners, Kraft and ARA. Chris noticed that his company was also being called directly by homeowners looking to make improvements to prepare their home for sale and that he could refer these customers to his realtor clients. On the advice of a couple of Winnetka realtors, Chris became licensed to practice real estate and joined a brokerage in Winnetka.

As a rookie realtor in the Winnetka market, Chris received training from a group of the most talented and productive people in the business. He has experience with multi-family, rental property management and has used his experience as a GC to serve clients with investment properties. With a background in economics, a trader's perspective on markets, a carpenter's eye for detail and an interest in architecture and construction technology, a career in real estate presents opportunities and challenges that keep Chris involved in bringing thoughtful strategies and solutions to the transaction.

Chris has developed an expertise in the acquisition of development opportunities, especially lots for new homes in New Trier Township. He has been a featured speaker at a bank-sponsored symposium on the outlook for new homes sales and quoted in the media. He is the author of the Winnetka Benchmark Report, a detailed analysis of the market for new, and recently built homes in several North Shore towns. His research and analysis of the market for new condos in Chicago has been sought out by developers and mezzanine lenders. The same updated studies are currently useful to banks owning real estate from foreclosure and in pricing distressed real estate.

Chris is married to Maureen Brady Moran and they have 2 daughters attending Loyola Academy and DePaul University. Chris is a graduate of Loyola Academy and attended Northwestern University. Maureen is a Member of the Faculty at the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University.
