Connie Barton

Connie, born in Gardner, Kansas, was the youngest of 5 girls. Growing up on a farm, with no brothers, her father had her out with him baling hay and feeding the cattle, riding horses and enjoying the great outdoors. What amazing memories. She raised her own children in Gardner, Kansas. Her husband, Steve, has been a tremendous support over the years and helps her whenever she asks. They have six children and three grandchildren no great grandchildren yet, but she’ll be excited when the opportunity presents itself. They have lived in a golf course community for the past 18 years and enjoy golf with neighbors and friends. They spend a lot of time on the back deck watch the KC Royals and KC Chiefs. In their younger years they enjoyed snow and water skiing. She tries to squeeze in time to play Canasta and Mahjong with our ladies’ group. They always have a great time. After working at Sprint for 23 years as a Customer Service Manager, she was approached by a broker/friend about getting her real estate license. She laughed. She hadn’t taken a test in 20 years! Could she even pass the real estate classes? She remembers how nervous she was when she took the test. She didn’t want to disappoint the broker (and honestly – herself). She had the opportunity to leave Sprint in 2006 and has been working as a full-time agent since that time. Well 20+ years later, she is still loving this profession as much as ever! Over the past 21 years she has assisted with over 500 contracts and over $100 Million in sales. She has had the opportunity to meet some amazing people while helping with their real estate needs. It is a pleasure working with first time home buyers, buyers on new construction in helping with their selections as well as homeowners get their homes ready to sell. There are days she is a financial consultant, marriage counselor, and Grandma to the kids. This year she was one of the first agents to sign up for the ReeceNichols Gold Key Project. Each home purchased or sold with a Gold Key Agent allows a family with a hospitalized child to stay one night at a Ronald McDonald House Charities. So, when her clients and she close on their forever home, she gets to help a local family.
