Craig Sargent is a native of the Bay Area, having been born and raised in San Mateo. He has lived in various cities along the Peninsula and maintains a strong network of connections in both San Mateo and Belmont. Craig attended Serra High School and graduated from Carlmont High School in Belmont. Afterward, he enrolled at the College of San Mateo, where he played baseball for a year before transferring to Arizona State University. At Arizona State, Craig was a pitcher for the club baseball team throughout his college career. Upon graduating, he returned to California and spent four years living in San Francisco, residing in both the Marina District and North Beach.
During his time in San Francisco, Craig pursued his passion for sports broadcasting and hosting by entering the world of radio. Influenced by his father, who was a former radio host and the Director of KNBR at the time, Craig aspired to follow in his footsteps. However, as the industry shifted towards a more digital approach, with the rise of streaming and online content consumption, Craig adapted to the changing landscape. He transitioned to managing partnerships for LIVE365, an internet radio platform where brands, celebrities, and content owners create branded channels. This experience provided him with valuable insights and skills.
Seeking to stay connected to the sports industry, Craig seized the opportunity to work as an account executive for the San Francisco 49ers during an exciting period when Levi's Stadium was opening and Super Bowl 50 was hosted there. In this role, he specialized in selling high-end suites, seats, events, and private dining experiences at Michael Mina restaurant within the stadium. Craig's time at the 49ers presented him with invaluable experience and an opportunity to contribute to a groundbreaking sports ticketing startup called IDEALSEAT. He served as the VP of Sales, working alongside his current real estate partner, Sean Sabean. IDEALSEAT aimed to revolutionize the sports ticketing world by customizing the sports experience using data. Craig played a crucial role in raising millions of dollars in capital for the start-up.
Motivated by his personal desire to be part of a team with extensive experience and a strong presence in the Bay Area, Craig joined Compass and Palermo Properties. He was impressed by Palermo Properties' reputation and saw the team as a perfect fit. With over 20 years of experience, Craig is excited to continue learning and growing alongside the team. He is eager to serve the Greater Bay Area, a region that he has been fortunate enough to call home for the majority of his life.
