Curtis joined Pulliam Properties in January 2020 with a long history of commercial real estate experience. After graduating from UNC – Charlotte in 2002, he joined The Mills Corporation in Arlington, VA. He leased new and existing retail, restaurant, and entertainment projects along the East Coast. In 2006, Curtis moved to Chattanooga, TN to join CBL Properties, a publicly traded REIT. As a native North Carolinian, he used that knowledge to lease and develop several North Carolina properties. After failing in love with Asheville, he took an entrepreneurial job with a real estate start up called Biltmore Property Group. Over the next 8 years, Curtis spearheaded acquisition & development of more than 20 properties in Asheville, Knoxville, Columbia, and New Orleans.
In 2017, Curtis had the opportunity to redevelop and expand a large industrial building from start to finish. This project provided vast on-site construction knowledge, design & permitting challenges, loan origination, and Tenant occupancy needs.
In addition to his real estate experience, Curtis is the founder and owner of an equipment store in Asheville, providing commercial grade sales, service, and parts for commercial landscapers & residential owners across WNC. This provides a unique seat for understanding not just retail, but how real estate choices impact business every day.
