Darcy arrived in Madison in 1992 for law school and although she did not plan on staying, she fell in love with Madison and never left. Since that time, Darcy has been active in the community as a consumer rights attorney, a community activist, a real estate professional, and as a mom of 2 awesome children that are out of the nest! She has served on several boards of local nonprofits such as Goodman Community Center, Community Shares of Wisconsin, the Social Justice Center, and the Greater Williamson Area Business Association. She founded Solidarity Realty in 2011.
Darcy particularly enjoys the opportunity to help buyers view homes from an energy and health perspective and teach opportunities on how to upgrade to energy-efficient features.
As the only EcoBroker® in Madison, she is excited to bring her EcoBroker® specialty and knowledge to her clients.
Through the EcoBroker® coursework she can now offer the expertise of being able to highlight the energy-efficient and indoor air quality features a potential home may have, connect you with local experts for testing or for upgrading your home, and discuss financing and incentives for your green improvements. For sellers, it means she has been specifically trained to market the environmental and energy-efficient aspects of your home and target the right market to provide maximum exposure. It excites me to help people move to Madison or move within Madison to find not only a great home but also the best neighborhood for them.
When she can carve out some free time, Darcy likes to bike, cross-country ski, and embark on home improvement projects she should leave to the professionals. Darcy and her husband, David, who is a public-school teacher, have lived on Madison’s Near East side for over 30 years and are passionate about the community they call home.
