Active in the community, Debbie belongs to the Manatee County and Anna Maria Chambers of Commerce and the Better Business Bureau. She is a sustaining member of the Junior League of Manatee County and is the office representative and a contributor to the MSC Foundation.

Debbie and her husband Ed, a real estate attorney for over 37 years, have two grown children - Matt, an attorney who lives in Cleveland and Michelle, who works in finance in Dallas. Their third child, Lulu, a Goldendoodle, lives at home. Ed is originally from Ohio, and they enjoy spending time in their second home in downtown Cleveland.
