About Ellen
As a native New Yorker and award-winning real estate agent, Ellen Raines Martin understands the ins and outs of New York City. With outstanding sales achievements and top-notch customer service, Ellen’s enthusiasm, dedication, tenacity, and attention to detail have resulted in finding clients their ideal home or the perfect buyer. Her extensive knowledge of every neighborhood in NYC allows Ellen to share the excitement of our city’s many hidden treasures as clients embark on a new journey. As a successful entrepreneurial businesswoman, she highlights value, investments, financing, and the importance of finding the right price. Ellen recognizes the power of careful listening as she is a strong client advocate and a skilled negotiator able to work in the best interest of every buyer and seller she represents.
Raised in Manhattan and Brooklyn, Ellen attended Parsons School of Design for fashion and NYU for real estate. Prior to getting her real estate license, she built and managed her own fashion design company which thrived for over 30 years. Along the way, Ellen also found time to be involved in a partnership with the Bernice Steinbaum Art Gallery on Madison Avenue. All in an effort to feed her passion for art and design, her sense of style, and her talent for spotting trends and opportunities.
Previous experiences led Ellen to take advantage of opportunities to live and study in Latin America, work in Asia, and travel extensively in Europe, which provide her with a unique perspective on the needs of her many international clients. For 40 plus years in the Village and on the Upper West Side, Ellen has built many relationships and contacts through her media exposure, fundraising efforts, and parenting activities in the city.
