He graduated from San Pedro High School in 1983 and attended the University of Southern California for two years with a major in petroleum engineering. He has been married for 33 years to his high school sweetheart Sally and has a 21-year-old niece, Mia, that they raised together. When Gary is away from work, he enjoys spending time with family, traveling, and playing golf.
