Gorena and Bobby Cortez, “The Trey Group,” as both a buyer and a seller, I would like to take this opportunity to assure that you are in good hands. Their team handled everything efficiently & professionally, every time, with high integrity, which was a great relief since I had already moved out of town and was counting on J.J. to run the show! This is the third opportunity my wife and I have worked with “The Trey Group.” The first was to purchase a new home in San Antonio, during our work transfer from Houston. J.J. handled the entire process remotely for us and when we had the opportunity to house shop, his team was well prepared and did not waste the little time we had. We were shown only homes that met our criteria perfectly. J.J. cleared his team’s schedule completely and gave us full attention. We purchased a beautiful 3 bedroom 2.5 bath home on an acre of land inside the loop! Two years later, I received a promotion and was required to transfer to the east coast. Again, we called on the Trey group for advice. To my surprise, “The Trey Group,” recommended that I NOT sell my property. His team was more than ready to sell my property if that is what I wanted to do, but they said I should consider keeping it as an investment property. We had the good fortune to meet JJ Gorena when we moved to San Antonio from New York in July of 2008. Our original plan was to rent an apartment for 6 months while we built a new home. Shortly after arriving, we contacted a realtor to look at some existing homes we had seen listed the real estate section of the local newspaper. We had also contacted JJ to look at one of the homes his agency was listing as well. When the first realtor heard this, he got all uppity on the phone, said we were wasting his time, and hung up. Enter JJ. He not only took the time to meet with us at the home we had seen listed, but on several occasions drove us all around San Antonio to look at what seemed like a 100 houses, some in brand new developments, some in existing neighborhoods. When we found a brand new home that the developer was anxious to part with since the original deal had fallen through, JJ not only recommended the deal, but got the dealer to knock 27K off the sale price AND pay all of our closing costs! Wow! We had concerns, as our purchase of the home was dependant on the sale of our NY home, which had not closed yet. JJ made sure when we signed the new agreement that we had an out in case our home sale in NY fell through. JJ even came to the walk through on the new home to make sure everything was okay before closing. We were represented by KW at the closing, and moved in less than 3 weeks later. To boot, a year later, JJ gave us a free market valuation on our home that helped lower our assessed value and saved us 500 dollars on our property taxes! To say the JJ and the crew at KW go the extra mile is doing them a disservice. They are all about persistence and quality service. This was the first home I have ever purchased. The home buying experience was nothing like the rumors that I had heard about buying a home. The Trey Group was there every step of the way to make the process easy and very understandable. When I started shopping for a new home, I lived in Delaware and came to San Antonio for a weekend to look at houses. Bobby set aside the entire weekend to show me every house I was interested in and he even rescheduled houses that I wanted to look at again. All of the paperwork was processed electronically so I was able to take care of everything prior to moving to San Antonio. He was also extremely knowledgable about the area where I was looking and he provided a lot of great advice as well. Bobby aggressively negotiated the asking price and I walked away with extra money without paying any closing costs. Once the offer was accepted, Stephanie, The Trey Group's contract manager kept me informed every step of the way and made sure I knew what the next step in the process was. Even after the offer was accepted, there were a few issues that came up during the home inspection. Bobby always looked out for my best interests and was able to get the seller to fix everything I was concerned about. If I had any questions, which as a first time buyer, I had many, I was able to contact them any time, day or night and alway got a quick response. Even after the sale, The Trey Group is continually there for me in case I have any questions or need any assistance. I seriously cannot recommend The Trey Group enough – especially for anyone who is new to the area. We are a military family that was only going to have 10 days in San Antonio to find a home and would then need to close from out of town. JJ’s team listened to our situation and was able to perfectly adapt their service to our unique situation and needs. In the months leading up to our visit, they worked with us to refine our home search criteria and sent us daily updates on new and updated listings. They clearly communicated everything that we would need prior to our visit to be able to make an offer effectively so we were fully prepared and comfortable to make a decision as quickly as we were ready and they took care of the rest. We worked with Kim Langham when we visited homes and she was excellent in both her professionalism and knowledge of the area. She made us feel both comfortable and informed throughout the entire process. They also offer up pressure-free recommendations for all of the services we needed (lender, inspector, etc), and all of them were excellent as well. As first time home buyers, we knew very little about what needed to happen to actually purchase a home, but The Trey Group made it as simple as finding a home that we loved and they carried most of the weight to make it a reality. Some of the above-and-beyond things that they simply took care of for us are: sending us daily updates of homes meeting our criteria, scheduling showings that perfectly met our tight schedule, coordinating with the seller’s agent, drafting up contracts, arranging for a mobile notary to come to our home for closing, sending us videos for the pre-closing walkthrough, and so many more. They were effective, responsive, friendly, and most importantly got us into our perfect house on exactly our ideal timeframe.
