About James

James is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Morrison Investment Properties’ business plan and mission. This includes site identification, underwriting, acquisition, capital sourcing, operations, and dispositions. He has over ten years of real estate experience, most of which is in multifamily real estate. Before the company's founding, Mr. Morrison worked for Archstone Apartments, one of the largest developers in the nation accumulating experience in asset and portfolio management as well as apartment acquisitions and operations. Before Archstone, he was a development project manager for Chelsea Investment Corporation, one of San Diego's largest affordable housing development firms, where he managed the tax credit financing and construction of affordable multifamily projects in the San Diego and Imperial Counties. James began his career as a CPA with the firm Moss Adams in their business assurance and advisory group.

James is a graduate of the University of San Diego’s Burnham Moore’s Center for Real Estate where he earned a Master of Science degree in real estate. He received his bachelor’s degree in business economics with an emphasis in accounting at the University of California, Santa Barbara. He currently serves as the Co-Chair of the Urban Land Institute’s Small Scale Infill Developer group and is a licensed California real estate broker.
