Jean Chalmers

As its former Mayor, Jean Chalmers have lived in Gainesville for decades as a student, a university researcher, a social service administrator, a hospital trustee and a city commissioner and, for the past 28 years in the best job she have ever had, a Realtor.

In helping Buyers, Jean has a deep understanding of the lay of the land, the credentials of builders, and property values and she's tireless in helping her customers find the home that will truly make them happy. What makes her most effective is the high-energy she's able to put into this enjoyable life of service and the thrill she gets out of helping people. She helps you evaluate mortgage proposals, qualifications of home inspectors, appraiser and surveyors. Her social work background has taught her how to truly listen to her customers and understand what they really want.

In working with Sellers, Jean brings years of experience and a deep knowledge of the market to help determine the best price for a home in these challenging times. She gives sensible advice and provides good service people to help prepare homes for the market. She professionally stage homes for maximum impact and use a professional photographer to prepare effective visuals for print, Internet and TV. She represents many University departments and industry in helping to recruit professional employees, which means she usually has a ready supply of buyers.

Jean's husband is a retired Distinguished Service Professor of History and they have two children, an attorney and a violinist who has just become a Realtor to join her practice.

Aside from work and family, her interests are world travel, music and government. But most of all her interests are taking really, really good care of her customers. Jean's aim is to be your realtor for life!
