About Jeffrey

Jeffrey Nelson serves as an Executive Vice President in RXR’s Investment Management Group. In his role, he focuses primarily on infrastructure investments, new development opportunities and public-private partnerships in the New York City region and nationally.

During his time at RXR, Mr. Nelson has been involved in some of the company’s most complex projects and public-private partnerships. Mr. Nelson leads RXR’s involvement in the $4.2 billion development of a new Terminal 6 at JFK and serves on the board of JFK Millennium Partners. He also had primary responsibility for completing the successful ground lease transaction and zoning entitlement for 175 Park Avenue, a 2.8M square foot redevelopment of the Grand Hyatt hotel adjacent to Grand Central Terminal.

Prior to joining RXR, he served as an Executive Vice President at the New York City Economic Development Corporation and head of the real estate transactions group. During his time at NYCEDC under both the Bloomberg and de Blasio administrations, he oversaw a portfolio of NYCEDC-led public-private development projects throughout New York City with a particular focus on the 125th Street corridor, Financial District and Downtown Brooklyn. He also led NYCEDC’s involvement on projects including the Moynihan Station redevelopment (Penn Station), the BQX Streetcar feasibility study and the City’s efforts to pursue other municipal infrastructure privatization.

Mr. Nelson is a graduate of Williams College, where he majored in political science. He received his MBA in real estate from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. He is a trustee of the Citizens Budget Commission.
