Home is very important to Jess Derr. Growing up in the country, as the oldest of eight kids in a tight-knit family, she spent a lot of time at home. Because of that, she has come to appreciate the intangible draw of the places we live in. It is the feeling she gets when she drives up to her childhood home. It is the growth chart on the walls, the trees that her grandparents planted, and the daffodils that come up in the same place every spring. The memories that she attaches to places are so strong. She wants to help everyone find that place where they can put down roots and have a sense of belonging. Home should feel comfortable and should be a space to achieve dreams and create memories.
