My husband Richard and I recently moved back to the Northern Virginia area after living in South America for many years. We always loved the Burke area, but affordable housing was limited for us. After touring an open house on a Townhouse in Burke, we immediately called Jessie Devamithran, knowing that she could guide us through the entire purchase process. She came and looked at it with us the very next day. While walking through the home, she was able to point out several things that we hadn’t noticed before. She immediately contacted the selling agent and began the negotiation process for us. She was relentless in working on our behalf and negotiating tirelessly, even until past midnight. With all her efforts our bid was successfully accepted. During the next three weeks until closing she was there for us through each phase of the process. My first contact with Ms. Jessie Devamithran was via email. I was overwhelmed by her warmness, enthusiasm, and expert knowledge of the real estate market. I was looking to purchase a home, as a first-time buyer. Hence, I was apprehensive and very nervous about the cost of homes, and whether or not I had enough money to move forward. The first thing Ms. Devamithran did was to ease my apprehensiveness by explaining the process of purchasing a home. She knowingly explained that getting a Loan Approval Letter prior to looking at properties would facilitae the process. Ms. Devamithran suggested I contact a loan officer and provided a recommendation. The loan officer was very good and made me feel comfortable as to my financial status. We discussed whether to purchase a condo or townhouse. Ms. Devamithran clearly and patiently explained the differences of purchasing a condo or townhouse. I decided to look at townhouses. We discussed locations, travel distance to work, neighborhoods, and personal needs, which included a discussion about which needs were a priority and which needs had some flexibility. Ms. Devamithran's knowledge, insights, and suggestions not only made we feel "I hit the jackpot with my realtor," but I also knew that she listened to me and was "on my side." The real estate market has been quite volatile, but Ms. Devamithran explained everything during our "home hunting" and
made excellent suggestions on homes she found that met my needs. We discussed the dollor amount over the asking price I would be comfortable with offering, as Ms. Devamithran knowingly advised me that outbidding was a possibility in this market. Unfortunately, I was unable to outbid other potential buyers and the home purchase did not occur. I decided to rent for a while, and Ms. Devamithran continued to provide her services. Her vast experience in the market became even more apparent when she found me a townhouse rental within a few days. I was overwhelmed by Ms. Devamithran's dedication and commitment in finding me a home, even though it was not the purchase we both wanted. Ms. Devamithran is a professional, with excellent commitment and vast expertise in a field which can be quite daunting. She is a great communicator who responds to all emails, texts, and returns calls promptly and efficiently. Ms. Devamithran goes over and beyond what one would expect of a realtor, and with her knowledge, expertise, commitment, and willingness to help, you immediately know that you are in good hands. She will definitely be my "go to" when I am ready to enter the real estate market again. When it comes to Ms. Devamithran's qualifications, she is second to none.

We recently inherited two homes in the Springfield area that needed a lot of TLC. We didnt know where to start to sell them. Jessie was recommended to us and we are so grateful. Her upbeat personality, professionalism, and integrity put us at ease immediately. She cared for us in our situation and put our interests first. Her years of experience in the DMV helped guide us on what needed to be fixed and what would be a waste of money. By way of comparison, the house had been on the market for about 8 months when I bought it in 2012.

Jessie is amazing! She was referred to me through a colleague at work who had just moved to VA. My husband and I work overseas in South America. If you are looking for a partner to assist you with your housing needs, Jessie is your first choice. We initially started looking to buy a home in 2019, put it on hold through 2020, and got serious about our search early 2021. Some friends were nearly through their purchase with Jessie (and are now also in their new home!) and enthusiastically recommended her. We got in touch and we're so glad we did.

Jessie is very committed to making sure new buyers understand the home buying process and really think through what they want in their home. Her starting questionnaire and discussion really helps pin down what's most important, what you can compromise on, and any little details you aren't even sure how to articulate.

There's no getting around how fast the market has been moving this past year. While looking for our new home with Jessie we were sometimes seeing several houses per week, and she never once turned us down for a showing. When we were ready to put in offers she worked with us to fine tune our terms and make our offer the strongest it could be. Around a month after we began looking we had an offer accepted on a home far beyond what we'd anticipated we would find, and I truly don't believe we would have found success so quickly without Jessie's guidance.

I have to believe our closing process was as smooth as is possible, and like everything before it Jessie was always available to answer our questions. We went from under contract to closed in about 3 weeks (!) with 0 issues, and moved into our new home this month. Jessie kept in touch even through move in and settling in to make sure we had no issues.

I'm not sure an agent can put more work or more care into finding the perfect home for a buyer while making the entire process as easy as she did. If you're looking to buy, you really want Jessie on your team.

My wife and I started our house hunt back in early 2019 after the birth of our first child. That’s when we met Jessie. She was amazing and very responsive to our needs. She made the first-time homebuying process so easy and was very knowledgeable. After losing out on an offer and having our living situation change as renters in Alexandria, we paused our search. In February of 2021 we found out we are having twins and Jessie was the first person we reached out to to help us find our home. In the 2 years since we were stopped actively looking Jessie never once pressured us or even asked us if we were ready to start looking again. Instead she told us she was there when we were ready, and she stayed active in our lives via social media and texting as a friend. Finding a home in the red-hot market was not an easy task but Jessie was able to get an offer accepted on the house we fell in love with at first sight and help us save money in the process. During the search Jessie didn’t care about the sale of a house. She cared about our needs and what made the most sense for us. Jessie truly is an amazing person and a very professional/ knowledgeable realtor who always puts her clients first. Jessie helped my wife and I purchase our first home and she was excellent through and through. She walked us through the process and pointed out a lot of things that we, as first homebuyers, weren’t privy to. When a friend referred Jessie to us, he said “Listen to her advice, you won’t always like what she says but she knows what she is doing.” Boy were they right!

Going from renting a small apartment to buying a house with a new baby was daunting to us. We weren’t sure we were ready but Jessie helped guide us from the beginning. Hi, we are the Woods Family and Jessie Devamithran not only helped us buy our house in 2012, but helped us sell it in 2014. She was wonderful and we enjoyed working with her just as much the second time. We put it on the market during a slower time of the year, but she once again went to every length in doing her job. We did everything she told us to do to get it ready and we got an offer after only two weeks! It’s also nice to know that some people aren’t interested in just making money. She became a friend and we kept in contact through the years. She also put us in contact with a wonderful realtor in the city we were moving to. She came in and guided me on the best things to do so that my house was appealing to the buying market. She not only sold my house in the first weekend it was on the market, she sold it for more than the asking price. I could not have asked for a more caring professional real estate agent. On the buying side, she advocated for me with the seller so that I was positive I was getting the house that I wanted for the best price I could get.
