Prior to getting into real estate, Joan was a passionate high school teacher and social worker.

She is also actively involved in the Kipsongo Project, a non-profit organization that is working to improve the lives of the people living in the Kipsongo area in Western Kenya. With the help of people like her, the Kipsongo project helps to connect artisans to the global market's members so they can sell their goods and provides loans to them to start businesses of their own.
