About Joan
Local Expertise. Global Connections.
“Exceptional Personal Service with World Class Results” is important for any business transaction, but especially meaningful as buying or selling a home.
Joan Sakyo, a Certified Residential Specialist, is an accomplished and experienced real estate professional, as well as a Certified Negotiator. But she is more than just her Realtor credentials. She brings a wealth of information and experience to her work. Having traveled the world for three years, and experiencing life through different cultures, was the best education she could have.
Joan’s work ethic and values are attributed to her early years. She was raised on a large dairy farm with 100 head of cows and 350 acres of crops. Gathering cattle twice a day, giving her plenty of time to dream of her future.
After obtaining her teaching degree, Joan taught school for the Department of Defense in the Far East and Europe for three years. Her proficiency as an educator continues to be an asset to her clients as she imparts vital information about the real estate market. She has mentored new agents throughout the valley. She truly has the heart of a teacher. Joan’s negotiating skills are fine-tuned and world-class. She has negotiated the artwork of the French Impressionist, Rouault, for the world’s largest collector, with galleries in Paris, Tokyo, and New York.
High ethical standards were essential when she moved to the corporate world, working for AT&T Internal Auditing and Security for ten years.
Having a strong desire to be in business for herself, she started a real estate career; first with Prudential, for ten years, where she was Rookie of the Year, another ten years with Keller Williams where she was a training instructor and mentor and currently with Venture Sotheby’s International Realty, her ultimate professional goal. Sotheby's has given her the opportunity to travel to Hong Kong to attend Sotheby’s International Art Auction to sell our local real estate to global buyers.
Contributing to the lives of Sellers and Buyers with your greatest asset is truly a privilege.
