Jody Lockshin

Jody Lockshin is one of Austin’s longest practicing Realtors® (since 1982) and her company, Habitat Hunters, Inc., is one of Austin’s original real estate companies (formed in 1972). Habitat Hunters is a hands-on service-oriented boutique agency with 11 licensed Agents, five staff members, and is one of the only Austin Brokerages with an on-staff Attorney/ CPA/Realtor®, Jeff Plotkin. Jody originated and sat on the board of the Leasing Management Division of the Austin Board of Realtors for over 10 years and sat on the Texas Association of Realtors committee which drafted many of the forms Realtors all over the state use today. In addition, Jody sat on the Advertising Review and the Ethics Committees of the Austin Board of Realtors. Jody is also a Google Screened Realtor ®.

Jody is a source for all things real estate related, whether residential or commercial, sales, leasing, relocation, apartment locating, expert witness work, property tax consulting, or notarizations. Jody is often enlisted by law firms for expert real estate witness work, interviewed by the media as a subject matter expert, and hired by mortgage brokers, real estate attorneys and other real estate brokers to represent them in their own personal transactions.

Since obtaining her real estate license, Jody has earned numerous designations, certifications and honors, and has served in various offices in local and state real estate committees and associations. Jody is a Certified Negotiation Expert, Certified Residential Specialist, Certified New Home Specialist, Graduate of the Realtors® Institute and an Accredited Buyer’s Representative.

In addition to spending time with her family, friends and dogs, Jody’s interests include traveling, playing poker and the following charities and community services: National and Austin Texas Organ Sharing Alliance (Speaker and Activist), Lupus Foundation of America, American Kidney Foundation, Humane Society and Red Cross.
