Joel is amazing! I couldn't be happier. I worked with Joel for two months trying to find a home when I first moved to SLC. We found a home in the neighborhood that I wanted, for the price that I wanted that was being remodeled and wasn't even on the market yet. Joel coordinated with the contractor and the owner to make sure that I was getting upgrades that I was going to love. Joel is very easy to get in touch with and he's a very easy person to like. After I moved in, the new furnace wouldn't work and I didn't buy a home warranty since everything in the house is new. Joel and I were talking when I mentioned the furnace. Joel told me immediately that he would take care of it himself. He went back through the contractor, and handled all of it behind the scenes--at no cost to myself. Even after the deal was done, and the house had been closed on, Joel wasn't satisfied until he knew that I was 100% happy--and I am! Joel introduced me to the lender that I used, the home inspector that I used, and a contracting friend of his that I have used a few times already to help customize my new home even more. I have been very happy with all of them. I know that if I need anything in the future, Joel knows a guy, and I trust him completely based on his track record of already amazing recommendations. TL;DR In short: If you go through another broker, you're gambling, because no one will be able to match Joel in any category. A+ -Matt Bailey

We recently purchased a federal heights home with Joel and he did a fantastic job! Joel is honest, responsive, and knowledgeable. He is highly recommended! HOWEVER, I would not recommend that you use the mortgage broker he works with, CityWide. I closed on the house 3 months ago and signed the mortgage with them then. They continue to ask me for additional documents related to obscure financial matters and have asked for the same documents multiple times in different manners. It's ridiculous at this point. I don't think they're doing anything illegal, just incompetent in a serious way. Soon I will stop cooperating, there's only so many times I can send them the same bank statement. They should have just asked for this all BEFORE the closing, not piecemeal along the way up until 3 months afterwards!

I spent six months looking at homes, trying to find one that met our unique requirements. I contacted several realtors in the process and worked with one at a time who would each show me a few homes and then when those didn't work out, that was the end of it. Joel went above and beyond. Rather than just show us some homes where the listing stated they were flexible on terms, he picked up the phone and contacted agents of each home that we were interested in to explore all possible options. In the end we ended up purchasing a home that we had looked at six months earlier. We had originally worked with that listing agent, but that agent did not work hard at finding a way for us to purchase the home with our unique requirements, nor did that agent keep in contact or show us any other homes. I randomly found Joel on Zillow and it was a lucky meet for me because he turned out to be the best realtor I've ever worked with! My husband works all day, so I knew it was going to be me looking at houses with whatever realtor I chose. I was a little nervous at the thought of going into houses alone with some random man, but Joel made me feel safe, wasn't pushy (i.e. didn't follow me around all the rooms I wanted to look at), and was very flexible with my schedule as I was pregnant at the time and dealing with major morning sickness. He gives off this laid back, no biggie whatever you want vibe, so there's no room for tense pressure of any sort. I also brought my mom with me a couple of times, my brother at different times, and my husband at different times and Joel was great with all of them. He welcomed anyone who I wanted to bring along. He was really great at holding back his realtor's pushy opinion. For example he didn't demand all kinds of questions such as well what do you think? Are you liking this one??!! He simply showed me houses and would give his honest opinion WHEN I ASKED FOR IT. My husband wanted to know exactly --step by step how Joel was going to negotiate the price we wanted for the house we wanted. He was very frank and indulged my husband with his stratigy of negotiation, gave him even a little history of how it used to be done 15-20 years ago, and told him exactly what was going to go down.
