John Lawrence

As Managing Broker of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chicago’s Elmhurst, Oak Park and River Forest offices, John has hit his stride as a mentor and business coach for Broker Associates. He has created a culture of high standards, mutual support and community involvement, and he recruits brokers who share his passion and values.


Initially, John worked as a middle school special education teacher and basketball coach in the River Forest Public School District. While he loved working with students for over a decade, he became interested in residential real estate and made a career change. After working for a local office a few years, John was eager to start his own office, Nickel Real Estate Group, in 2006. His goal was, and remains, to provide unparalleled support to Brokers so they could meet the changing needs of clients. He affiliated with Weichert Realtors® in late 2008. In 2018 Weichert Realtors®- Nickel Group was acquired by Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chicago.
