Julie "JP" Hawkins has been a licensed real estate agent in the DC Metro area since 2002. From 2006 to 2009, she provided support to the U.S. Department of Energy and the National Association of REALTORS® to promote home energy efficiency within the real estate industry, and provided outreach and communications support to the Partnership for Advancing Technology in Housing (PATH), a HUD program which worked to promote advanced building technologies to the housing industry. During that time she helped to spearhead efforts to include energy efficient and "green" housing data in the region's multiple listing service.
Prior to joining the real estate industry, she helped coordinate curriculum development and outreach for EPA and its annual National Brownfields Conference, focused on cleanup and redevelopment of potentially contaminated properties. She has worked in multiple facets of the construction and environmental trades with groups such as Center for Environmental Citizenship, National Parks Conservation Association, International City/County Management Association, Habitat for Humanity, and American Grassroots Unlimited; with particular focus on environmental impacts and public lands protection.
Julie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science & Natural Resources Management from the UNC-Asheville.
Julie has served on the Associate Leadership Council (ALC) for Keller Williams Realty-Dulles as Career Development Chair, and provides mentoring and coaching to newer agents. When not working with her real estate clients or colleagues, she spends time with her husband, young son and rescue dog (Sadie Hawkins) in Vienna, VA.
