Kara Shaffer

Kara Shaffer is a lifelong resident of Severna Park with a passion for real estate and a love for the greater Chesapeake Bay area. While growing up her father was a local builder and remodeler throughout Maryland. This inspired Kara at a young age to pursue a career in the real estate industry. Kara has fond memories of visiting jobsites on weekends as a child which later evolved into conversations of discussing the potential of many ‘fixer-uppers’ when she began her career in real estate.

After graduating from Severna Park High school, Kara attended Widener University and graduated with a B.A. in Humanities. Shortly after college, Kara began her real estate career specializing in new home construction sales. During this time Kara directed the sales office and made sure her new home buyers were 100% happy from start to finish and became well versed in the construction process. After working in sales and starting a family, she decided to move to a purchasing role with a nationally recognized builder Hovnanian. There she gleaned a wealth of knowledge about various building materials, products and construction methods used in home building. Simultaneously, Kara obtained her real estate license and became a REALTOR®. In recent years, Kara has truly enjoyed helping her clients buy and sell real estate. She knows that this process is not only stressful, but also emotional. Kara loves to be in the details of the buying and selling process but will resort to her sense of humor and calm demeanor at times when it’s most needed!

Kara’s extensive knowledge and experience will benefit her clients as they search for their dream home in and around Maryland! Kara has a knowledgeable, personable, and stress-free approach to buying and selling homes and would love to help you throughout this process.

When Kara is not busy selling or buying homes, she loves spending time with her children, friends, and cockapoo. She also has a passion for running and loves musical theatre.
