After moving from her hometown of St. Louis, MO., she relocated with her husband and three children to Mountain Lakes, NJ. There she spent a number of years raising their three children and volunteering for various organizations including serving on the church parish council, serving on the board of a community soup kitchen, and running a math mentorship program for gifted children. From there they moved to Winston-Salem, NC where she was a member of the National Association of Female Executives, Professional Women of Winston-Salem, and a parishioner of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church. She feels it is important to help those in need and donates a percentage of each closed sale toward various organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Rosie's Place, and Rett Syndrome Foundation at Boston Children's Hospital.

As a full-time REALTOR®, Karan has worked with first-time homeowners, move-up buyers and sellers, luxury estates, downsizing, and new construction.
