We worked with a few different agents and Karen is by far the best. Once we wanted to go above list and she stopped us saying that we should first see if there were other offers. We were about to get the house and at the last minute the seller's agent took another offer without informing Karen. Karen was so upset; she was lost for words when she told me. She was our buyers agent for a tricky short sale property that ended up going to foreclosure. Despite the challenges, she helped us close within one month (unheard of!). Karen Parnes has given me a completely new outlook on real estate agents. I meet Karen and we discussed my thoughts on the property and she rolled up her sleeves and got busy. I admire Karen for her ability to keep in mind a win win situation for the buyer and seller because it really made the deal. I'm not a person who wants to take advantage of others but I do want to get the best deal possible. This was a $400k property that the sellers were trying to get $450. Karen rolled up her sleeves and got right to work and 3 weeks later we closed and I'm holding the keys for $380K with credits at closing. Karen is a very diplomatic communicator who will present your wishes/intentions to the seller and get the best possible results. She is very down to earth, up front, and a pleasure to deal with. Over the past few months, Karen has done an amazing job at stepping us through the home buying process as first-time homebuyers. She has always been incredibly prompt and available. Our home search was perhaps atypical, fraught with many unforeseeable problems. Karen helped us through them all, including a disastrous home inspection (necessitating a breach of contract), sellers who were unwilling to release our earnest money deposit, a faulty home appraisal by our lender (they missed two bedrooms and one bathroom, undervaluing the house by about 20%), switching lenders just days before the financing contingency, etc. We cannot recommend Karen's services enough.
